Biggest Upset

This weekend Michigan's football team was shocked against Appalachian State at home. Appalachian State is the defending 1-AA national champion which just came up to the 1-A league. The first team they had to face in the 1-A division the #5 ranked Michigan. Michigan is known as a national powerhouse and had a good chance of going to the BCS bowl game and winning the national title. Michigan was a heavy favorite in this game but, Appalachian State had other ideas.
Appalachian took over the game from the start and at one point was leading 31-20 in the 3rd quarter. The game took an exciting turn when the Wolverines (Michigan) score two touchdowns but, they went for 2-point convertions after each touchdown and missed them both. The score was then 31-32 with about a 3 minutes left in the game. Appalachian's offence turned the ball over again with an interception on the 1st play after the kick-off. Michigan had a big opportunity to finish this game by scoring one more touchdown but, it was something they could just not do. Michigan was stopped and had to attempt a field-goal. Appalachian blocked the field-goal and it rolled into the endzone for a touchback.
Appalachian had the ball, down one point, with about a minute and 30 seconds left in the game. Appalachian State made an offensive stand for the ages reaching the 10-yard line with 30 seconds left on the clock. With no time-outs left they had to attempt a field goal. The kick was good and Appalachian was then up 34-32. Michgan made a few pass completions to get within field goal range. Yet again, Appalachian State blocked the kick and they won the game. This game was said to be one of the biggest upsets in college football of all time.
